2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
Our media product represent one particular social group which is teenagers. Our product is aimed at teenagers that are not popular within society and geeks who are not interested in the outside world but are only into technology and teens who spend most of the time in their rooms 24/7 on phones, games consoles, and computers. The narrative in our opening sequence intends to show what unsociable teens are like this day and age. The character in this opening sequence wants to be the best in school and this is why he changes the grades of students so he can achieve high grades for his GCSE's. Later on in the opening sequence the character represents geeks and unsociable teens when he is eating the packet of Doritos and typing on the computer at the same time which shows that the character has no patience by multi tasking which this represents the social group that the character is in because he is concentrating on his computer. The clothing of the character shown on task 17 shows casual jeans and shoes plus a superman jumper which represents the social group because it can link with geeks because superman is known as a comic book character. The character wears this so the audience can have an idea of what the characters personality is like. The positioning of the character in the centre which grabs the audiences attention because he is the main object on the screen to look at and this also suggests that he is isolated from society which this shows representation of social groups such as geeks. This links to task 9 and 17 because the character in our opening sequence make the audience question the narrative because of his personality which this keeps the audience entertained and this makes them to look forward to what happens later in the narrative.
